Introducing Social Media 1 at FLVS
Dear Michael, Do you know what really makes social media click? It’s not Instagram, Reddit, or Facebook…IT’S STUDENTS! Their actions. Their decisions. Their interests.
In Florida Virtual School’s new and innovative Social Media course, students won’t learn how to use Vine or gain more Twitter followers. However, they will discover:
- Their social media voice – how it creates influence and change.
- How social media has evolved and the global history it has created.
- How to find authenticity and truth in an online world where they can “be” anyone.
- Their digital footprint – it makes a bigger impression than their physical one.
- Social Media Personas vs. Social Media Stereotypes.
- Interactive games, Multimedia Videos, Infographics, and more!
This incredible .5-credit elective is FREE to all high school students in grades 9-12 in the state of Florida.
The future of Social Media is waiting to be defined…so how will our students use it to make a difference?
