Abstract
A a principal theme in this issue of the Journal of Online Learning Research is Experience. Each of the articles focuses on how a group reports on and thinks about experience. For those who participated in the studies that lead to these articles, experiences seemed to be important; and the participants seemed to do their own framing of what makes a so-called good one. For the most part, each of these articles reports on good experiences learning online, but of course, there is always room for improvement. What is critical from a decision making perspective is that online education could be an important educational option for many young people in K-12 settings. Further, there needs to be multiple and varied ways to capture, reflect on, respond to, and revisit all aspects of the experience of learning online.
