Last spring we introduced our new name and debuted anew look and feel, and this fall we welcomed our new CEO. And while change was definitely in the air this year, we’d like to take a step back and reflect on where and how we started. Since 1996, VHS has been educating students around the world with our unique co-synchronous learning model – offering high-quality online courses that foster 21st century skills. We’ve always believed in partnering with educators to provide a wealth of opportunities to both students and teachers – opening doors that would be otherwise unavailable in a brick and mortar school. As we look ahead to the upcoming year, we promise to continue to create quality courses for both students and educators, and provide more of the online opportunities that enrich education and have become synonymous with The VHS Collaborative. Career Resolutions: Ring in the New Year with Professional Development Enhance Your Skills and Create an Engaging Classroom Start your year off right by giving your classroom a 21st century reboot. Our 6-week online Professional Development courses help educators create engaging online and blended learning options for their students. Credit Recovery: Looking at Online Options Getting Students Back On Track Do you have students that have struggled in a traditional classroom this past semester? Students that have fallen behind on work or missed school due to illness or personal issues? Online credit recovery courses may be the perfect solution for these students. With the Credit Recovery Program at The VHS Collaborative, students have the ability to recover a full year course in one semester! Our 15-week courses, based on our acclaimed co-synchronous model, are suited for students who have fallen behind in class or missed school due to illness or personal issues. It allows them the opportunity to catch up on their work in one semester as opposed to having to repeat an entire school year. This online program is ideal because it fosters peer assistance and engagement among students through open forum discussions and debate, and offers guidance and instruction with highly-qualified teachers. This dual collaboration and learning is key to the success of these students.
