Statistics For November 2010

As of about 10:45pm EST, there were 11,401 hits to this blog during the month of November.  This represents a big jump from the 8672 hits in October (an increase of 131% actually), and 8654 hits in September.  This is interesting to me, as the previous months had been consistently in the 7000-7500 range (i.e., August – 7400, July – 7516, June – 7099, May – 7665, April – 7370, and March – 7112), and even before that it was in the 6000-7000 range for 10 of the previous 12 months.  I’m not sure what has accounted for these jumps, particularly this recent substantial increase.

The busiest days this past month were 09 November and 17 November (both with 526 hits), followed by 15 November (with 525 hits).

The top five entries this past month were:

  1. Advice From My California Readers
  2. Statistics For December 2009
  3. Webinar Recording – Blended Learning: Make it Work for Your District
  4. Professional Development In Your PLN – Virtual Schooling Style
  5. Remembrance Day
  6. Problem With Cyber Charter Schools – PA & NJ Edition (tied for fifth most)

Interesting that items 3, 4, and 5 were items posted in November; however, the first two items were posted back in 2009.  People found these entries, and this blog, by searching on the terms:

  • statistics
  • california
  • blended learning
  • generational differences
  • businessman
  • tado quotes
  • remembrance day
  • dissertation
  • national distance learning week
  • journal of computing in teacher education

You have to figure the person searching for “businessman” was majorly disappointed.

Anyway, the Feedburner statistics for November were 90 subscribers (37 of which were through e-mail) and a reach of 40.  This is compared to:

  • October: 72 subscribers / 18 reach
  • September: 66 subscribers / 21 reach
  • August: 58 subscribers / 29 reach
  • July: 34 subscribers / 19 reach
  • June: 29 subscribers/  14 reach

As a reminder, reach refers to the number of people who are subscriber via Feedburner that actually click on a link to visit the actual blog.  I’d like to explore this notion of reach a little more, as it varies from month to month, but this month was the highest that it has been since I started using Feedburner.  Also of interest is the top five entries from Feedburner’s perspective:

Until the end of next month, let me leave you with the summary statistics from my old blog site
