Dear Michael Barbour,

A more comprehensive email will be coming shortly, including an introduction of our new co-chair (today is Vicki’s last day) but we wanted to let you know about the K12 Online Learning SIG Facebook page, so that you can continue the conversation from SITE. Please check it out at https://www.facebook.com/groups/onlinelearningsig

SITE 2023 and K-12 Online Learning

So yesterday was the first day of the annual conference of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education.  As reminder that the organization does have a special interest group focused on K-12 distance, online, and blended learning (and they also sponsor the Journal of Online Learning Research).  Normally I would be in attendance at this conference, but as most of my academic readers know that I just don’t attend conferences in New Orleans.

Having said that, I’m scanning the program and I notice that many of the regular folks involved in K-12 distance, online, and blended learning are not in attendance at the event.  And most of the sessions that are tagged as “K-12 online learning” don’t really have anything to do with K-12 distance, online, and blended learning.  Below are the ones that i was able to find that were actually on topic.

Sunday, March 12

Tuesday, March 14

Wednesday, March 15

Thursday, March 16
