Summer Survival Guide

As you wrap up another successful school year, add a reminder to your September calendar to start planning for the seventh annual Digital Learning Day (DLDay), set for February 22, 2018. If you’d like to get started a little earlier, we’ve got lesson plans from innovative educators you can tailor to fit your students and DLDay 2018 social media content and graphics you can share with your colleagues.

And to stay connected over the summer, remember to follow @OfficialDLDay on Twitter and like Digital Learning Day on Facebook.

Finally, to help get you through those hot summer months, here’s some recommended reading plus a few FREE professional development opportunities from Future Ready Schools (FRS). Like Digital Learning Day, FRS is a project of the Alliance for Excellent Education. It helps school districts develop the human and technological capacity needed to personalize student learning and prepare students for college, a career, and citizenship.

Have a great summer! We’ll see you in September!

Future Ready Librarians
More than 7,200 members strong, this private Facebook group serves as a collaboration space for school leaders interested in learning and growing as librarians.
And if you’re not a librarian, FRS has other private Facebook groups for principals, district leaders, technology leaders, and coaches. Navigating the journey to personalized learning is easier with a little help from friends. Find your tribe via one of the Facebook links below.
FRS Institutes
If you prefer your professional development opportunities to be in-person rather than digital, check out one of the eight FRS Institutes nationwide. FRS Institutes are FREE two-day events designed to support principals, district leaders, IT directors, librarians, and teacher leaders who are interested in implementing personalized learning strategies for their students.

FRS Institutes include professional development that will help you build a regional network with your peers so you can work together in real time, get feedback, and find support to take your next steps. Whether your district is just getting started or is further along, attending an FRS Institute will help your district’s team navigate to the next point in the journey toward becoming future ready.

Don’t come alone—invite your district leaders, rock star instructional coaches, and dynamic librarians to join you!
