Dear Michael Barbour,
We are excited to share with you some new opportunities for your work to be recognized within SITE and among its members!
First, over the past few years a great deal of effort and work has been focused on promoting digital equity in learning with technology. We would like to recognize that work at SITE. Nominations are now open for the SITE Outstanding Service to Digital Equity award, which will be announced at SITE 2022 in San Diego.
You are invited to nominate a colleague (or even yourself!) for the award. The deadline for nominations is February 1, 2022. You can find more information for the award and nomination information here: https://site.aace.org/conf/awards/award-osde/
If you have any questions about the award, please feel free to contact Rhonda Christensen, SITE Cosultative Council Chair, at rhonda.christensen@unt.edu.
Second, Lorrie Webb, Faculty Development SIG Co-Chair, is co-editing a book scheduled for publication in late 2022 by IGI Global (http://www.igi-global.com/). The title of the book is Preparing Pre-Service Teachers to Integrate Technology in K-12 Classrooms: Standards and Best Practices. Please see this call for chapters for additional information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lorrie Webb at Lorrie.Webb@tamusa.edu.
Last, please remember that SITE 2022 conference proposals are due March 5th. Please do not wait too long to get your proposals submitted (https://site.aace.org/conf/call/). We look forward to seeing you in San Diego!
Sincerely,
K-12 Chairs
Qijie Cai and Cecil R. Short
