Nomination Deadline Feb 15 for 2023 TxDLA Awards

The first of two items from the Texas DLA folks.


Prestigious TxDLA Awards Deadline is February 15

Each year, TxDLA presents prestigious awards honoring the best in digital learning. Please take time to nominate an outstanding individual or organization today. Deadline for all nominations is February 15, 2023.

Awards Honoring TxDLA Members and Participating Organizations*

*Note: Nominees must be TxDLA members or organizations actively participating in the association.

Awards Honoring Digital Learning Individuals and/or Programs**

**Note: Nominees do NOT have to be members of TxDLA.

Nomination Process:
There are two options, described below, for submitting an award nomination for the awards listed above.

  • OPTION 1 (Preferred): Complete the full nomination form on behalf of your nominee.
  • OPTION 2: Submit the brief nomination form, and then your nominee will receive an email with a link to complete the full nomination form on their own (please follow up with them for completion).

Hall of Fame Award
The Texas Digital Learning Hall of Fame Award recognizes long-term digital-learning practitioners or advocates whose careers are characterized  by exceptional commitment, outstanding achievements, and  enduring impact in the field of digital learning. The award is an honor of high distinction; accordingly, inductees are selected with great care. All nominations for this award must be made by using a separate Hall of Fame online form. Note: the brief nomination process, described above, is not available for this award.

Don Foshee Memorial Grant
The purpose of the Don Foshee Memorial Grant is to recognize exceptional ideas and talents to be applied in a thoughtful, fun, and  creative manner delivered through digital learning. Funds are directed toward the motivation of finding your  “backyard treasure” in the spirit of Don Foshee. All nominations for this award must be made by using the online nomination form. Note: the brief nomination process, described above, is not available for this award.
We encourage you to take time today to recognize hard work, dedication, and innovation by submitting a nomination for one of the prestigious TxDLA awards. We look forward to reviewing your submissions!

Award and Publication Opportunities

Note this update from the K-12 Online and Blended Learning SIG at SITE.

Dear Michael Barbour,

We are excited to share with you some new opportunities for your work to be recognized within SITE and among its members!

First, over the past few years a great deal of effort and work has been focused on promoting digital equity in learning with technology. We would like to recognize that work at SITE. Nominations are now open for the SITE Outstanding Service to Digital Equity award, which will be announced at SITE 2022 in San Diego.

You are invited to nominate a colleague (or even yourself!) for the award. The deadline for nominations is February 1, 2022. You can find more information for the award and nomination information here: https://site.aace.org/conf/awards/award-osde/

The title of the book is Preparing Pre-Service Teachers to Integrate Technology in K-12 Classrooms: Standards and Best Practices. Please see this call for chapters for additional information. Learning Awards

Call for Nominations – October 1, 2013 – February 11, 2014   

The United States Distance Learning Association, the nation’s premier distance learning association  since 1987 presents its 2014 International Distance Learning Awards, the premier awards for the distance learning industry. These prestigious awards are presented annually to organizations and individuals, and recognize four categories of excellence: 1) 21st Century Best Practice Award; 2) Best Practice Awards for Distance Learning Programming; 3) Excellence in Distance Learning Teaching Awards; and 4) Outstanding Leadership by an Individual Award. The USDLA International Distance Learning Awards were created to acknowledge major accomplishments in distance learning and to highlight those distance learning instructors, programs, and professionals who have achieved and demonstrated extraordinary achievements through the use of online, videoconferencing, and satellite/video delivery technologies globally.

The USDLA International Distance Learning Awards will honor organizations with its 21 Century Best Practice Awards. This award category recognizes outstanding leadership in the field of distance learning for an agency, institution, or company incorporating blended or individual distance learning technologies. In addition, the Awards for Best Practice in Distance Learning Programming are presented to outstanding organizations, which have designed and delivered outstanding and comprehensive Best Practices for individual programs or a series of programs through online, videoconferencing, and satellite delivery technologies. Award levels include Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze categories. The Excellence in Distance Learning Teaching Awards will honor outstanding instructors whose programs demonstrate extraordinary achievements in a distance learning environment for teachers or trainers. Award levels include Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze categories. Finally, the Outstanding Leadership by an Individual awards recognize those who have demonstrated strong, innovative skills for the development and/or administration of programs or who are recognized scholars in the field of distance learning globally.

The 2014 USDLA International Distance Learning Awards are presented to five major sectors of distance education and training and include the Pre-K – 12, Higher Education, Corporate, Government and Telehealth markets.

This is a call for nominations and submissions for awards to be presented at the NUTN NETWORK 2013 annual conference to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, September 16-18, 2013

Awards

Call for Submissions: The NUTN NETWORK 2013 Planning Committee invites you to nominate or self-nominate award candidates for awards in the following categories:

*    NUTN 2013 Research Paper Award

*    NUTN 2013 Shirley Davis Award for Excellence in Blended Learning

*    NUTN 2013 Distance Education Innovation Award

*    NUTN 2013 Award for Institutional Achievement

*    NUTN 2013 Student Recognition Award

 

Important Dates: Submission deadline for each award category: April 5, 2013. Finalists and award recipients will be notified by May 10, 2013. Award announcements will be made at the Network 2013 conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, September 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque in downtown Albuquerque.

Finalists of awards are expected to attend the NETWORK 2013 conference. Award recipients will have the opportunity to make brief acceptance remarks at the awards luncheon ceremony. Finalists of awards may register for NUTN NETWORK 2013 at NUTN member discounted rates and are encouraged to participate in other conference sessions and activities.
