Conference Workshops and D2L Diamond Partnership The 2023 TxDLA Conference features several engaging and FREE workshops for all conference attendees: K12 Workshop: Digital Engagement (targeted to K12) Monday, March 20, 10:00 am – 12:30 pm (register below) 2.5 CPE credits for K-12  Through a series of hand-on activities, explore how you can better engage students in their learning with a critical eye toward your own practices and what the research says about engagement and learning. You will work through a series of activities exploring ways to leverage some of the John Hattie’s strategies and shape them in ways that leverage effective use of learning technologies. View more details about Digital Engagement Session K12 Workshop: Explorations in Digital Storytelling (targeted to K12) Monday, March 20, 1:30-4:30 pm (register below) 3 CPE credits for K-12  Explore the power of story and how you and your students are able to bring your own stories to life using the many technologies available today. A great hands-on opening of this year’s conference theme, you will leave with one of your own stories packaged in a digital format and ready to share with the world. View more details about Digital Storytelling Session Digital Accessibility from A to Y Workshop Monday, March 20, 1:30-4:30 pm (register below) Educators, course developers, and web page designers are coming to believe digital accessibility helps people with identified disabilities. Explore digital accessibility issues and identify strategies and activities that will meet the goal of improving and empowering online content and help educators understand how to prioritize accessibility. You will be encouraged to share your own experiences and ask questions specific to your needs. Leave with “ready to implement strategies”. Interactive Workshop with StoryCenter: Guided Story Drafting Thursday, March 23, 9:00-9:45 am (no registration needed) Storytelling experts from StoryCenter will lead you through a writing exercise, identifying easily accessible components of storytelling, and discovering how those same processes can be applied to your work with students. You will drill down to the essence of impactful storytelling, simplifying the process and leading to engaging, meaningful stories. In this way, you and your students can open the door to deeper sharing of lived experience and knowledge.
