NCVirtual Spring 2023 TOT2 Registration: Now Open!

The second of two items from a US-based K-12 online learning program.  This one a notice of some upcoming professional learning opportunity.

What is TOT 2?

TOT2 (Teacher Online Training) is NCVirtual’s free professional development program designed as a follow-up to our ToT1 Introduction Course.

The course is: “Beyond the Basics: Effective Online Teaching and Content Development.” This course will focus on the digital teaching and learning strategies critical to effective online teaching and content development.

Note: It is recommended to complete the “An Introduction to Online Teaching and Content Development” (TOT1) course or have previous basic knowledge of online teaching and learning before taking it. A pre-assessment is provided at the beginning of this course to help determine if TOT2 is appropriate for you.

Topics Include:

  • Effective Instructional Design Principle
  • Differentiating for Each Online Learner
  • Intellectual Property & Copyright
  • Exploration of Self-Selected Instructional Strategy
  • Fair Use, Creative Commons, and Open Educational Resources
  • and much more!

Upcoming Spring 2023 Cohort Dates:

  • January 30 – February 24, 2023
  • March 6 – March 31, 2023
  • April 3 – April 28, 2023

Duration:

  • 4 weeks
  • 4 modules
  • 20 hours
  • 2.0 CEUs

Once maximum enrollment has been reached, registrants will be notified and moved to the next upcoming course date.

How does it work?
Course Structure
  • The course is asynchronous and facilitator-led. Facilitators have many years of experience in online learning and are specially trained to work with educators transitioning to this environment.
  • Participants work in cohorts of 35-50 educators.
  • Participants will complete four modules.
Duration
  • The course is self-paced and designed to be completed within a specified 4-week time-frame (can be altered to be completed in a shorter time based on district needs).
  • The course takes 20 hours to complete.
  • Successful course completion will earn a certificate for 2.0 CEUs, via the NCEES transcript.
