German Update and Clarification

We have clarification on our German message from last week. Next year, we will contract with Virtual Arkansas for German 1 and German 2 course content. NCVirtual instructors will teach both courses. However, we will not offer German III or IV next year. Spring 2022 will be our last semester to offer German III and IV.

Since we began offering world language courses, we have contracted with Oklahoma State University for both German courses and instructors. OSU has been a fantastic partner during that time, and we wish them all the best as a leading German course provider.

Spring 2022 Final Grade Rep

Starting in our Spring 2022 session, NCVirtual will have a new procedure for receiving final grades based on Early Start or Standard Start enrollments.

First, determine when you need your final grades from NCVirtual. We have two options for you:

May 12

May 26

Then, choose your start date. If you need final grades by May 12, enroll your students in Early Start classes. If you need grades by May 26, enroll in Standard Start (traditional) classes.

Check your Spring 2022 enrollments. If you need final grades by May 12 and have students already enrolled in Standard Start classes, you will need to drop them and enroll them in Early Start classes. If you do not see a course offered in Early Start that you need, open a ticket with our Virtual Support Center and request a section.

November 12 – NCVirtual’s Wellness Day

NCVirtual has dedicated November 12 as a Wellness Day. Both teachers and students will have a mental and physical health day in conjunction with the November 11 Veterans Day holiday. See our announcement for full details.

Last Days for Fall Block Transfers

The last day to transfer students into fall block classes is approaching. Mark these two dates on your calendar:

Early Start classes – last day to transfer is November 5.

Standard Start classes – last day to transfer is November 19.

A Snapshot of NCVirtual Grading Guidelines

Please note that NCVirtual teachers must adhere to the NCVirtual grading guidelines, practices, and procedures which can be found in our Grading and Testing Quick Reference Guide. Figuring out which mobile app or web portal to use can be confusing. There are several mobile apps and a web portal that help students, parents, advisors, facilitators, and teachers stay connected to NCVPS and the student’s online course. Each app and the online portal have a different function.

Check out the guide on our Mobile Apps page to see when and where it’s best to use each app or portal.
