Fundamentals of Online Teaching Certificate
(FoOT)
Starts April 18

This foundational certificate is designed for those who are new to the field of distance education or who are thinking about teaching online, either now or in the future. This basic overview is a great way to become familiar with the concepts, tools, and strategies of the online environment. Over the course of six weeks, you’ll complete a final assignment that challenges you to use your new online learning knowledge to develop a learning activity plan and consider key components of an effective online course. Upon successful completion of the final project, you will be mailed a certificate of completion and a digital badge will be awarded.
(30 hours/3 CEUs).

Professional Certificate in Online Education
(PCOE)
Starts May 9

This certificate is for faculty and instructors with some experience teaching online. You’ll expand your knowledge and skills, as well as learn and apply proven strategies for designing effective and engaging online courses. The certificate culminates in a professional ePortfolio project that demonstrates your online course development and delivery skills. Upon successful completion of the final project, you will be mailed a certificate of completion and a digital badge will be awarded.
(70 hours/7 CEUs).

Creating Presence in Online Courses
Starts April 25

Online instructors face a unique challenge: keeping students’ attention from a distance. This four week online mini course workshop, Creating Presence in Online Courses, is designed for instructors, instructional designers, and practitioners who work with online programs, helping them develop this specialized skill.

Creating Presence in Online Courses is ideal for those with at least some experience teaching online. From April 25 to May 16, this online mini course workshop will introduce presence and the important role it plays in an online course as experienced by instructor and learner. It will provide practical examples, evidence based principles, and a design framework for creating presence. Participants will learn to develop activities that foster a sense of presence and promote student engagement in online courses. Upon successful completion of the final project, you will be mailed a certificate of completion and a digital badge will be awarded.
(27 hours/2.7 CEUs).
