You are invited to register today for TxDLA’s Fall Leadership Workshop, a one day virtual leadership training and networking event set for November 4.

Navigating your role as a leader in education and training can be challenging. Sometimes it feels like you need a map just to find your way around.

Let TxDLA be your guide! TxDLA Fall Leadership: Virtual Camp Edition, November 4, is the place for trailblazing education and training leaders to learn to find your way through a forest of ever-changing leadership trends, and climb a mountain of good ideas to give you a clear view of your leadership strengths and goals. While exploring how TxDLA runs and how you can put your talents to work, you will gather a survival kit of leadership tools that you can apply in your day-to-day professional role.

Cost is $150 and includes a free membership in TxDLA through March 2022. Limited scholarships are available with an October 17 application deadline.

Management, Leadership, Change, and Influence: Competencies for Educational Technology Leaders
Presented by Dr. Anthony Edwards, Director, Tarleton Online, Tarleton State University
This engaging and insightful workshop will give you tools to excel in your leadership position or enhance your leadership greatness!

In addition to his role as Director of Tarleton Online, Dr. Edwards serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Technology at Tarleton State University. Dr. Edwards has also served as a professor of Biology at Panola College, Senior Vice President of Talent at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, and Science Department Chair at Granbury High School. Dr. Edwards has taught in Fort Worth ISD and Huckabay ISD. Dr. Edwards’ research interests include online teaching and learning, enrollment management, STEM Education, racial equity, transfer students, community colleges, and educational leadership.

Strategic planning is the path we take from why we exist (our mission) to what we want to become (vision and goals). TxDLA has done the hard work of brainstorming and creating strategic initiatives for the association, but now how do we take these great ideas and use them to move our organization forward? How do we implement NOW?Choose your own adventure to work on the project that sparks your interest the most! (You will be able to vote on the project choices during the registration process).

Diversity in Your Leadership
Presented by Dr. Michelle Singh, TxDLA Chair of the Board; and Assistant Commissioner of Digital Learning, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
It is safe to say that we are all leaders; however, each one of us has a different experience when it comes to what leadership means, or looks like, in our professions. In this session, you will get key examples and insight from Dr. Michelle Singh, TxDLA’s long-standing leader extraordinaire, about the key differences between leading in work and leading in a professional organization. In addition, you will learn about current leadership opportunities in TxDLA.

Michelle has 20 years of experience in higher education, and in her current role she and her team are responsible for the THECB’s OER grant programs, the OERTX Repository, and the future Digital Learning Clearinghouse. She currently serves as TxDLA Chairperson, is a past board member for the United States Distance Learning Association, serves on the Executive Committee of the Texas A&M University System Council for Academic Technology and Innovative Education and is a Past Chair of the Learning Technology Advisory Committee for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
