A series of weekly online drop-in sessions for instructors at all levels navigating remote teaching will begin Tuesday.

Drop-in sessions to support educators at all levels

A UWindsor education professor will host a series of online drop-in sessions to support instructors at all levels in navigating remote teaching, starting tomorrow.

Bonnie Stewart, assistant professor of online pedagogy and workplace learning, will run weekly Online Teaching Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4 p.m. starting April 28 and continuing through the end of May.

“The digital learning curve that K-12 teachers are on is the same one that faculty colleagues and workplace education providers share,” says Dr. Stewart. “The drop-ins will focus on the how of online teaching, rather than specific digital tools.”

She will bring in guest experts in online pedagogy from around the world and plans to centre the discussions around questions from participants.

“Faculty and staff thinking about how to adapt effectively to online platforms are encouraged to drop in,” Stewart says.

Participants may visit the #OTT20 site to join any of the free sessions for the next five Tuesdays.

The project builds on webinars for K-12 educators on remote teaching, hosted over the past 10 days by the Faculty of Education and the Office of Open Learning. Videos of the Simple | Equitable | Engaging webinars are available for people to watch or share:
