NDLW 2019 – Delivering K-12 Science Curriculum via Distance Learning in Alaska

Wednesday, November 6, 2019
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm EST

Presenter: Andrea Pokrzywinski, Distance Delivery Instructor

My name is Andrea Pokrzywinski, but everyone calls me Andy. I am the Science Video Conference( VTC) Science teacher for the Lower Kuskokwim School District, in Bethel Alaska. This is my thirteenth year of teaching Science by distance learning. I stumbled into this job when my husband transferred to Bethel. It was a perfect fit for my background in educational technology and science education. I had just finished 7 years of working as an Educational Technology Director for a consortium of 18 rural school districts in Northern Wisconsin. I started my education career as a 7-12 grade science teacher for the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School in Minnesota. Previously, I worked as a fisheries technician and a water chemist. I love all things outdoors and dabble in the visual arts too.
