EDTECH537 – List Entry: New International Chapters in the K-12 Online and Blended Learning Handbooks

Yesterday, in my Week 3 entry, I indicated that today I would post a list entry to model for my EDTECH597 students.

This year I want to focus my list entry on the Handbook of K-12 Online and Blended Learning.  For those that do not know, a second edition is being prepared and a new “international” section is being added.  Below are a list of the chapter that will be included in this new section.

1. Canada – this chapter will summarize and expand upon the research done as a part of the annual State of the Nation: K-12 E-Learning in Canada study.

2. New Zealand – this chapter will examine the long history of the Virtual Learning Network and other developments to provide regional and national distance education in the schools sector.

3. Ireland – this chapter will largely focus on the iScoil initiative.

4. Israel – this chapter will largely focus on the national Israeli Virtual School.

5. Singapore – this chapter will examine how the national government, through a series of master plans, pushed the use of e-learning in the country.

6. Iceland – I’ll be honest and say I don’t know much about what this chapter will include, so I am quite interested in reading it.

I should note that we tried to recruit authors for chapters on South Korea, United Kingdom, Turkey, Nepal, and Australia – but were unsuccessful.
