NOTE THE MID-MAY DEADLINES

TECH TRENDS SPECIAL ISSUE CALL FOR PAPERS. This Special Issue ofTechTrends will focus on the intersections and synthesis of culture, learning, and technology, with particular emphases on issues of equity and inclusion in technology-mediated environments. We are looking for original papers that deeply consider and address all three of these factors – culture, learning, and technology. If you are interested in submitting a paper, please provide a brief abstract by May 15, 2017.  Submit abstracts via this google form. Additional information can be found here.

ICEM 2017 CONFERENCE. The ICEM 2017 Conference Digital Universities in the MOOC Era: Redesigning Higher Education will take place at the Federico II University in Naples, Italy, sponsored by the Federica Weblearning Center, September 20-22, 2017. Contributions for papers and workshops are welcome. The deadline for submission is May 15th, 2017. EARLY-BIRD REGISTRATION AVAILABLE. The 2017 AECT International Convention early-bird registration will remain available until May 31, 2017. Make plans to attend the convention, November 6-11, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. Member and nonmember registrations can save $150.  See the AECT website for registration and hotel information.

SUMMER JOURNAL SYMPOSIUM 2017. Registration is now available for the 2017 Summer Journal Symposium and Summer Board & Leadership Meeting which will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Jacksonville, Florida, July 22-25. Details regarding registration and hotel reservations are available on the AECT website.

NEW CALL FOR ETS V2 PROPOSALS. Do you have a passion for a new technology or tech ‘toys’ with promise for learning? Do you want to have a little funwhile learning about the most novel new learning technologies exciting AECT members?  Planners have tweaked the design of the Emerging Technology Showcase so that AECT Jacksonville Convention participants can access their practitioner’s side to think about, meet and question over 60 hot-tech advocates hosting many roundtables in two large sessions!  Explore the possible! AECT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS. The AECT Leadership Development Committee is excited to invite applications for the Leadership Internship Program to coincide with the 2017 AECT Convention in Jacksonville, FL.  We need your help to identify and recognize outstanding individuals with leadership potential in educational technology and in the broader field through the AECT Leadership Internship Program.  Details and submission information can be found here. The deadline is June 5, 2017.
