NOTE THE EARLY MARCH DEADLINES
INTERNET RULES IN THE NEWS. Questions about future Internet rules have been popping up in the news recently. AECT published a policy brief on “Net Neutrality” in 2015. Now would be a good time to review it and other AECT policy briefs.
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS. AECT members are invited to submit a nomination for the office of President-Elect. The individual elected in January 2018 will serve as President-Elect (2018-19), President (2019-20), and Immediate Past President (2020-21). For a detailed description see the Call for Nominations on the AECT website. Nominations must be submitted to Kay Persichitte (chair of the Nominations Committee) at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than March 1, 2017.
SUMMER SYMPOSIUM TAKING SHAPE. A symposium is planned to allow interested writers to participate in a peer-review process related to submissions to the new Journal of Formative Design in Learning. The journal has issued a call for papers, with a deadline for abstracts of March 3, 2017. The symposium will be held in Jacksonville, Florida, July 22-23, in conjunction with the AECT Summer Leadership Meeting. Details can be found on the AECT website.
