The conference is hosted by the Jönköping University in co-operation with Destination Jönköping

Preliminary conference structure

The Conference programme includes plenaries, parallel sessions with paper presentations, workshops, trainings, moderated poster and demo sessions and the synergy strand. The event starts on Tuesdayafternoon on 13 June, with registration, followed by the Welcome Reception and ends with a Farewell Coffee on 16 June.

Pre-conference workshop

The pre-conference workshop entitled Digital Transformation And Diversity In A Swedish Context will be on 13 June, at 12:00-16:00 CET, hosted by SADE, the Swedish Association for Open and Distance Learning, and will be free of charge.

Eva Hemmungs-Wirtén

EvaEva Hemmungs Wirtén is professor of mediated culture at Linköping University, Sweden. She is the author of Terms of Use: Negotiating the Jungle of the Intellectual Commons and No Trespassing: Authorship, Intellectual Property Rights, and the Boundaries of Globalization. Her ambition for the future is to continue developing research in the intersection of intellectual property, the history of science, material culture and the mediation of knowledge.

Stefan Hrastinskistefan

Stefan Hrastinski is Professor and Director for the Technology for Learning unit at the The School of Education and Communication in Engineering Science, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and Visiting Professor at Mid Sweden University. His research focuses on how to support online learning, communication and collaboration across various contexts, including higher education, school settings, companies, the public sector and informal settings.

Georgi Dimitrov

dimitrovDeputy Head of the Unit on Innovation in Education and the EIT. Georgi Dimitrov joined the European Commission, Directorate General Education and Culture, as a Policy Officer in 2008. He was involved in various roles in setting up the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a recent initiative of the EU addressing innovation by integrating education, research and business activities.

Young Scholars’ Support

We are pleased to announce that EDEN’s support scheme to young scholars will be offered again at the 2017 Annual Conference, with the sponsorship of SADE, the Swedish Association for Distance Education. Two young researchers’ attendance at the Conference will be supported with €600 each.

Late submissions still welcome!

There has been an impressive response to the Call, showing high level compliance with the theme and concept. The relevance and diversity of submissions is reassuring for a conference rich in content and in networking opportunities.

Due to numerous extension requests received, the online submission will remain open until further notice. Submissions that relate to the Conference Scope and one or more of the Conference Themesare still welcome in paper, poster, workshop, training, demonstration and synergy formats.

that your papers, posters and training submissions will not only be subjected to the conference evaluators’ thorough assessment, but could also win one of EDEN’s prestigious awards. We are keen to promote and inspire professionals by recognising excellence and will continue the tradition of distinguishing Best Papers and Best Practice Initiatives. The conference participants can also make their voices heard – they will be able to vote on their favourite posters on display – the poster earning the highest number of votes will receive the conference’s Poster Prize. Everybody who has an accepted submission for presentation will receive a Speaker badge and all conference participants will be awarded a Participant badge.
