FOCUS ON OPPORTUNITIES TO PUBLISH
HANDBOOK DEADLINE EXTENDED. The deadline to respond to the Call for Proposals for the 5th edition of Handbook of Research on Educational Communications and Technology has been extended to January 15, 2017. For details click on the website link.
MAJOR REFERENCE WORK. Find out more about the Call for Authors for the AECT/Spring online Major Reference Work titled Learning, Design, and Technology: An International Compendium of Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy.Opportunities are provided for longer than typical journal articles (7,000-17,000 words).
NEW AECT JOURNAL. Journal of Formative Design in Learning, an official publication of AECT, will publish Volume 1 (2 issues) in 2017. Editor-in-Chief Robert Kenny (email@example.com) invites authors to submit their manuscripts for peer review via the submission site www.editorialmanager.com/jfdl.
NEW CHALLENGE. The White House and the U.S. Department of Education have launched the EdSim Challenge with $680,000 in cash prizes and sponsor prizes from IBM, Microsoft, Oculus, and Samsung. The Challenge calls for concepts for educational simulations, using the latest virtual and augmented reality technology, that will help students prepare for the high-demand jobs of the future.
