JACKSONVILLE IN 2017. Be a vital participant in the AECT International Convention next year in Jacksonville, Florida, by proposing a session. The theme is “Leading Learning for Change.” Start planning now and look for the call for session proposals to be posted soon on the AECT website. The call will open December 6, 2016.
NEW AECT JOURNAL. Journal of Formative Design in Learning, an official publication of AECT, will publish Volume 1 (2 issues) in 2017. Editor-in-Chief Robert Kenny (firstname.lastname@example.org) invites authors to submit their manuscripts for peer review via the submission site www.editorialmanager.com/jfdl.

NEW CHALLENGE. The White House and the U.S. Department of Education have launched the EdSim Challenge with $680,000 in cash prizes and sponsor prizes from IBM, Microsoft, Oculus, and Samsung. The Challenge calls for concepts for educational simulations, using the latest virtual and augmented reality technology, that will help students prepare for the high-demand jobs of the future.
