MAKERSPACES, ENTREPRENEURIAL THINKING, MULTI-DISCIPLINARY LEARNING, & INNOVATION SOLUTIONS. Join a panel that discusses an experimental class in which undergraduate students and faculty from seven disciplines responded to pressing social problems. Panelists will discuss how they used design thinking, maker space, Beam, drone and teleconferencing technologies to enable the students to think big and produce innovative, practical solutions.

UPCOMING SYMPOSIUM. EdTech Efficacy Research Academic Symposium is slated for May 3-4, 2017, in Washington, D.C. For more information, check thesymposium website. The gathering is sponsored by the University of Virginia Curry School of Education, Digital Promise, and the Jefferson Education Accelerator.

SPRINGER HIGHLIGHTS AECT PUBLICATIONS. A recent promotional video,“Publish with Springer in Education,” features a number of AECT books. Click the link to see the short video. Also, as part of Springer’s Teachers’ Day special, the publisher is making a number of articles from TechTrends open access until October 31. Again, click on the link for more information.

NEW ENDORSEMENT. The University of Missouri is the latest institution to receive an AECT endorsement of a certificate program. The program is the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies’ Online Educator Graduate Certificate Program. The University of Missouri joins the University of Hawaii at Manoa, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and the University of Texas Rio Grand Valley in granted endorsements.
