NEED A LIFT IN LAS VEGAS? Try Lyft. It’s like Uber and is recommended by the Westgate, host hotel of the AECT International Convention. Here’s how: 1) download the Lyft App on your smartphone, 2) Enter WESTGATERESORT in the Payment Section/Promo Code area, and 3) request a Lyft. Use the service to and from the airport and other destinations.
NEW HANDBOOK EDITION IN THE MAKING. The 5th edition of Handbook of Research on Educational Communications and Technology offers opportunities to publish in one of our field’s leading resources. Chapter proposals are due November 15, 2016. The production period is expected to cover several months, with publication coming in late 2018 or early 2019. If you missed the detailed call for papers that was emailed a few weeks ago, find it now on the AECT website.
NEW BOOK. Women’s Voices in the Field of Educational Technology: Our Journeys,edited by Ana Donaldson, is new from Springer. Women from around the world were asked to contribute to this volume, giving their perspectives on swimming in the “good old boy” stream to find recognition in our field. Contributors discuss their lives and the people who made a difference in their professional journeys.
AND… AECT members are invited to the Springer Reception and Book Signing to meet many of the authors included in the Women’s Voices volume above. The event will precede the keynote on Wednesday, October 19, at the AECT International Convention in Las Vegas. Don’t miss this event!
ANOTHER NEW BOOK. Learning and Knowledge Analytics in Open Education, proceedings from the AECT-LKAOE 2015 Summer International Research Symposium in Shanghai, is new from Springer and AECT. Members can access digital content free of charge by going to the Publications section of the AECT website.
