How to Get Started with Maker Education

Thursday, September 15, 2016
6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. ET (register)

On Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET, the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) is hosting a Teacher Talk Webinar to show teachers how they can introduce maker education into their school or classroom.

Maker education is about giving students access to a new class of technologies, enabling students to design, build, invent and problem solve in new and unique ways. This type of tinkering allows students to transform ideas into reality, sparks interest in STEM careers and develops growth mindset, curiosity, self-efficacy and collaborative problem-solving.

Join this webinar and learn with teacher and maker education coordinator Lindsey Own how to get started with maker education in your school or classroom. Learn the basics, understand the benefits to students and leave with practical approaches to bring maker education to your students.

Susan Patrick, CEO of iNACOL said, “Maker education paves a way for students and teachers to cultivate an environment of collaboration, design thinking and real-world problem solving-giving students the interlocking skillsets needed for lifelong success.”

This webinar is free to attend-participants are invited to register here for final details and login information.
