Learn from and collaborate with global experts

Kia ora Michael,

Whether you are an educator looking to improve your teaching practice or a school in the process of forming a Community of Learning (CoL), here is an excellent opportunity to investigate ways to improve your teaching practice and the outcomes for learners. Meet, learn from and share your ideas with innovative educators from around New Zealand and international NPDL experts at the Deep Learning Lab.

Join Global Directors of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning (NPDL), Michael Fullan, Joanne Quinn and Joanne McEachen, for a unique opportunity to explore leading-edge innovations for deep learning and tools to help your students succeed in today’s complex world.

We are committed to ensuring this event programme offers insights, learning opportunities and value for leadership roles in schools, clusters and at a national policy level (MoE representatives will be attending), as well as practical, hands-on activities to empower teachers and in-school leaders.

When: 2 – 4 October 2016
Where: Christ’s College, Christchurch

Investment: $455 incl GST (discounts available for registered NPDL schools in NZ – please inquire directly to Margot McKeegan)

What we will explore together:

  • Keynote Michael Fullan: the big picture of NPDL, global insights and events, the ‘new measures’
  • Delve deeper into Michael Fullan and Joanne Quinn’s book ‘Coherence’
  • Microsoft to share their ‘digital learning framework’, and launch a special kit for NPDL schools in NZ
  • Australian educators to share their cluster experiences
  • Development of a rubric around Cultural Responsiveness
  • Development of student learning experiences, drawing on success in Uruguay
  • Moderation activity: how does the process work?
  • Overview of the Deep Learning Hub and its resources
If you are an NPDL cluster member or if you are interested in finding out more about Deep Learning, then register now for this professional development workshop.

Places are strictly limited, to ensure this is an intimate and collaborative learning experience.

Registrations close Friday 23 September 2016.
