Big Names, Big Ideas at the Distance Teaching & Learning Conference

We are honored to have some of the nation’s leading experts in online and distance education as keynote speakers at this year’s Distance Teaching & Learning Conference. Richard Culatta, Michelle Miller, and Karl Kapp complement one another to bring groundbreaking insights that can transform how we teach and learn with technology. You can get a glimpse into what they will be talking about by reading our interviews from the blog with the conference keynote speakers.

Richard Culatta is the former director of the Office of Educational Technology for the U.S. Department of Education, where he focused on educational innovation. In his keynote, “Technology as a Tool to Reimagine Learning,” he’ll discuss the latest strategies for creating personalized learning. He’ll also focus on how to enhance the user experience in online course design.

In her keynote, “Getting Into the Minds of Learners to Guide Teaching With Technology,” Prof. Michelle Miller of Northern Arizona University will explain how cognitive, brain, and learning sciences can improve online education and motivate students in new ways.

Prof. Karl Kapp of Bloomsburg University is a leading authority in the convergence of learning and technology. In his keynote, “The Quest for Learner Engagement,” he’ll explore strategies for enhancing learner engagement, drawing on game-design concepts. Kapp’s presentation will be full of actionable tactics for attendees to use when designing and delivering online courses.

Richard, Michelle and Karl are just three of the many experts in online and distance education who will present at the 2016 Distance Teaching & Learning Conference, in Madison, Wisconsin. We hope you’ll join us this year, August 9-11.
