DR. CLAYTON CHRISTENSEN TO DELIVER ADDRESS AT
6TH ANNUAL NATIONAL SUMMIT ON EDUCATION REFORM
World’s Foremost Authority on Disruptive Innovation Will Discuss Revolutionizing Education
Tallahassee, FL – The Foundation for Excellence in Education today announced Dr. Clayton Christensen, co-founder of the Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation, will open the second day of the 2013 National Summit on Education Reform in a special keynote address. On October 17-18, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush will host the organization’s sixth annual event. Located this year in Boston, Massachusetts, ExcelinEd’s flagship initiative annually convenes the best and brightest from across America and around the world to share strategies to improve the quality of education for all children.
At the 2013 National Summit on Education Reform, Dr. Christensen will examine education issues through the lens of disruptive innovation, and how it can be the key to transforming monolithic, factory-model systems into student-centric designs that educate every student successfully and enable each to realize his or her fullest potential.
Dr. Christensen is a professor at the Harvard Business School and the founder of Christensen Institute, a non-profit think tank whose mission is to apply his theories to vexing societal problems such as health care and education. He is regarded as one of the world’s top experts on innovation and growth and his ideas have been widely used in industries and organizations throughout the world. Dr. Christensen has helped establish many successful enterprises, including the innovation consulting firm Innosight, the public policy think tank Innosight Institute, and the boutique investment firm Rose Park Advisors.
The rest of the two-day event will include keynote and general sessions with national and international leaders and strategy sessions covering some of the hottest topics and latest innovations in education. Annually, this event provides lawmakers, policymakers and advocates the opportunity to learn about successful education reforms happening throughout world and together build consensus and form solutions to shared challenges.
