Another one for my Kiwi readers…
GCSN Newsletter – 5 July 2013
It is with considerable regret that we farewell Margot McKeegan from the GCSN team as she takes up a full- time position with CORE Education. Margot has been a valued member of the GCSN team from 2010 to 2013. Her contribution to the development of video conferencing in schools, her work with school champions, her organisation of the scholarship mentoriing programme and her support of the of the Pegasus schools have been particularly valuable.
Termination of GCSN Video Conferencing Bridge Service
The Ministry of Education has announced it is transitioning to a new high definition video conferencing bridging service to be supplied by Asnet. All schools will now have access to the high definition service provided by the Ministry. For this reason GCSN will be terminating the video conferencing bridging service it has been supplying for the last twenty four months.
Asnet will arrange to transition all the GCSN video conferencing users over to the new Ministry service over the coming weeks. It is expected the new service will be in place for GCSN schools by the start of next term.
Registration of interest in individualised BYOD workshops
In our previous newsletter we indicated that GCSN is considering whether to run a number of BYOD workshops for individual schools. Such workshops would involve expert assistance from across New Zealand in all facets of ICT and BYOD development It is proposed these workshops will be held during term three.
If your school is interested in participating in this programme could you please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Expressions of interest should be lodged by the end of term two.
This newsletter will be be the last one for term two. It has been a busy term for everyone. We hope that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the forthcoming school vacation.
Please keep an eye on the GCSN events calendar over the next few weeks for information about GCSN events in terms three.
