Earlier this week I posted AJC Is Looking At Online Learning In Georgia, well it appears that my alma mata has picked up the issue as well.
New technologies can be transformative, and there’s much to be excited about in the education field. The School of One has captured a lot of attention for its integration of technology and traditional instruction to create a personalized curriculum for each student. The Khan Academy is another example of using technology to cultivate student engagement and learning. In this model, teachers post lectures online, which students access at home, and use class time for hands-on learning and discussion.
I should also note that the College of Education at UGA is featuring the AJC piece in their alumni section, see here.
