This showed up in my inbox overnight.  Since SITE has a Virtual Schooling SIG I figured I would share this here in case anyone might like to nominate someone from the K-12 online learning world.

A message to all members of SITE Community

The Award

The SITE Outstanding Global Educator Award was established in 2010 to (a) recognize and encourage outstanding leadership, scholarship and service globally; and (b) increase awareness of the variety and range of successful approaches taken through teacher education to increase equity while also improving intercultural competence with effective and equitable adoption of information technology.

The award receivers are recognized as outstanding global teacher educators for their global leadership in information technology and teacher education. They have gone beyond service to digital equity recognized in the SITE OSDE Award to provide leadership that is sensitive to local and global issues encompassing all facets of teacher education: service, teaching and research.

In common with the SITE Outstanding Service to Digital Equity Award, the presentation of this award is also intended to emphasize SITE’s concern for equity in information technology and teacher education.

Thank you!
