Series: SCCS Student Survey 2009

header_tr_cornerlAnother series from Darren and the folks at the Saskatoon Catholic Cyber School that he posted at Teaching and Developing Online.  This time, Darren described the series as:

Over seven hundred high school students at the Saskatoon Catholic Cyber School shared with us what they thought of the cyber school, I will be sharing the answers to questions one per day…hope you enjoy. The survey tool was the LMS survey tool which is a course offered to all students when they register for an online course. They are asked to do a course survey in each of the courses after their midterm report. Hence the collection of questions.

Here are the entries…

And while not part of this series, another survey response item – Electronic Textbook Survey.

Until next time…

Series: Cyber School Students’ Learning Styles

header_tr_cornerlYesterday I posted the monthly Series: Cyber School Videos III entry.  Today I wanted to share some of the recent statistics that Darren has been sharing at Teaching and Developing Online.  Essentially, he had a group of Saskatoon Catholic Cyber School students complete a learning styles questionnaire (based on David Kolb’s learning styles theories by the looks of the data) and posted a series of entries on the results

I should note that I have taken issue with learning styles as a research methodology in the past – see Using Learning Styles for the most details of these rantings.

Having said that, even if I don’t believe in learning styles, I always enjoy highlighting the good work Darren and the folks at the Saskatoon Catholic Cyber School do – maybe that’s another thing that makes SCCS so special.
