iSchool Initiative’s DLR Tour Arrives at ISTE 2012!

The iSchool Initiative has embarked on a nationwide tour this summer! Travis Allen, founder and president of iSchool Initiative, and his team of students from Kennesaw State University have set out on a journey never attempted before.  On a mission to change the face of education, iSchool Initiative is visiting 21 cities nationwide to bring awareness of technology solutions to over 25,000 educators, administrators, students, and parents.  iSchool Initiative is traveling for a total of 45 days with one goal in mind: completely revolutionizing education.

Watch our launch video, “The Digital Learning Revolution Tour Begins,” and support us in bringing awareness to our mission for educational reform.

Travis Allen is documenting this journey on his blog, “The Mobile Learner”, describing the intersection between his life as a 21st century student and his attempts to successfully cause nationwide educational reform. In his most recent blog post, Travis shares his highs and lows from his stop at HSTI12 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and he discusses how each hurdle that him and his team face brings them one step closer to their end goal.

Read Travis’ most recent blog post, “#DLRTour Reaches Arkansas and Texas, the Successes and Failures”, leave comments, and reach out to him for questions or show of support!

The tour has already visited Mobile, Alabama; Hot Springs, Arkansas; Dallas, Texas; and Phoenix, Arizona. Currently, the DLR Tour is stationed in San Diego, CA at the 2012 ISTE Conference. iSchool Initiative is aiming to make a splash in the local news as well as the corresponding social media circles.  Using the hashtag, #DLRTour, they continue to employ mobile technology to further their mission.

Without its sponsors, iSchool Initiative would not be able to make this DLR Tour possible. They would like to send a huge thank you to both the grassroots supporters and the corporate sponsors that made this vision a reality.

Nice mention of ETLO’s PD focus on skill development and demonstration – everyone likes to walk away from a learning opportunity with new skills (I hope…)

Peer review of e-portfolio is a great process for online students; very supportive experience for them. Facilitating it is great.
