TI: Learning Hub is an extended Calendar Event series. The purpose of the series is: Using TI as a learning hub to build a professional learning community.
Participants will learn how to use the basic tools available in Tapped In. The Learning Hub Series will empower educators to be more flexible and knowledgeable in helping their students to be independent learners who use a variety of formats and resources to communicate ideas and construct learning.

Learning From Lyrics

This media literacy curriculum involves the use of popular song lyrics as a flexible teaching tool to engage, motivate and inspire students, grades 5-12. Join John Chase in the Learning With Lyrics group room in October to learn about an interdisciplinary instructional strategy that is suitable for all students and is particularly useful and effective for at-risk and disengaged students who may be struggling with the new learning standards and standardized assessment.

Dr. Lesley Farmer, facilitator of this discussion, coordinates the Library Media Teacher Services Credential Program at California State University. Join the ISTE Media Specialists SIG in the Cybrarians group room where we will look at the Join Lesley in the Cybrarians Group Room where we will look at the international aspects/factors of eBooks and iPads for the October discussion.

Join Jeff Cooper, one of the Tapped In HelpDesk volunteers, for K-12 Campus Tour and Classroom Support. Topics will include 1) Getting started with Tapped In Special Interest Groups or K-12 Student Groups and accounts, and 2) Questions and Answers regarding creating a K-12 Student Group or Tapped In Special Interest Group. Jeff will share ideas for getting your online classroom better equipped to work with students during the school year. These tours will start in the Reception room of Tapped In.
