Announcements
Read Samples of Student Writing
In an online class for students in grades 3-7, Mrs. Wieneke read the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff and discussed how the author used the organization of her ideas, transition words, and a great ending to create a wonderful children’s story. The students in attendance were then challenged to create their own well-organized stories with a similar chain of events, building off the title “If You Give a Puppy Pumpkin Pie.”
AOA Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Alpha Omega Academy will be closed December 24 and 25 for the Christmas holiday. Teachers will be unavailable by phone, but students may continue to work in all courses if desired. Please contact your teachers ahead of time if you have questions or concerns.
Upcoming ACT and SAT Testing Dates
Juniors and seniors interested in taking the SAT on January 26 need to register by December 28. The next ACT testing date is February 9. The registration deadline for that test is January 11.
New Transfer Requirement
Effective January 1, 2013, seniors transferring into Alpha Omega Academy will be required to earn a minimum of 5.5 credits from AOA to graduate with an AOA diploma.
LIFEPAC Course Requirement Change
Effective immediately, participation projects are no longer required for students taking LIFEPAC courses. Students taking LIFEPAC courses may still complete participation projects for credit, but they are now optional.
