New Digital Learning Resource for Policymakers and Education Leaders

From the inbox late last week (Thursday I think), more neo-liberal propaganda…

Digital Learning Now!

August 24, 2012

Dear Friends,

As part of our goal to support policymakers and education leaders in transforming education for the digital age, Digital Learning Now! is publishing the Smart Series. This series – released in partnership with the Foundation for Excellence in Education and Getting Smart – is a collection of interactive white papers aimed at equipping leaders with models, resources, and strategies for overcoming the various challenges in implementing digital learning.

The first paper, “Funding the Shift to Digital Learning: Three Strategies for Funding Sustainable High-Access Environments,” is now available on our website.

There is a growing demand for student devices due to the emergence of high-quality digital content, new online learning services, and the upcoming shift to online assessments administered by PARCC and SBAC. This paper highlights real examples of how states and school leaders are providing their students with the tools they will need to access next generation learning opportunities. Armed with these examples, other states will have the models and inspiration necessary to develop their own innovative methods to fund technology and revolutionize education for their students.

Please freely share this resource. It’s our hope that the Smart Series will become a vital tool for education leaders implementing technology strategies to provide every student with a rigorous, high-quality, customized education that prepares them for college, work, and life.

Sincerely,

John Bailey
Executive Director, Digital Learning Now!

    • As a life long educator looking for real solutions it seems that the ” more neo-liberal propaganda…” is not helpful.

      • I just call them like I see them Mike! The Foundation for Excellence in Education and the Digital Learning Now initiative are both neo-liberal pushes to continue to use the front of digital and online learning to increase the corporatization of public education in the United States. A report designed to inform how to fund and leverage this movement, is basically a piece of propaganda.

I’m glad that you’re looking for real solutions. If that is the case, I would honestly suggest that you look beyond this organization and this initiative to find them.
