GCSN Newsletter – 10 August 2012

Important internet provider information

GCSN has been able to arrange a very favourable deal with The Total Team and FX Networks to provide an uncapped data plan for school internet use.  The deal has many other features.

  • Bandwidth will be dedicated exclusively for GCSN member schools’ use
  • The more schools that join the bigger the pool of bandwidth allocated for all schools to use
  • Services will be available to RBI schools
  • The ability to reduce the cost of the service after twelve months will be dependent on the number of schools that join the programme
  • There will up-to-date reporting of individual school usage, network performance and the ability for schools and GCSN to monitor fault reporting and resolution in real time.
  • Schools on copper (e.g. ADSL/VDSL services) awaiting their fibre service can join the programme under the same terms
  • Additional services such as telephony, server hosting, etc will be available at very favourable rates

If you are considering the issue of internet provision and would like more information, please contact mike.hilliard@gcsn.school.nz
