Statistics For March 2011

Okay, I’m a day late this month getting these online because of my trip up north to visit the folks from FarNet and the University of Auckland.  Anyway, this past month there were 12,270 hits to this blog.  This is compared with 10,724 during the month of February, 11,384 during the month of January and 9734 during the month of December.  March was actually the highest traffic month I’ve ever had – eclipsing November 2010, which came in at 11,404 hits.

The high traffic entries this past month included:

  1. Problem With Cyber Charter Schools – PA & NJ Edition
  2. Webinar Recording – Blended Learning: Make it Work for Your District
  3. Florida Virtual School And Online Student Teaching
  4. Statistics For December 2009
  5. Questions About The School Of Tomorrow
  6. Online Teacher Certification Announced At CUE 2011 – Leading Edge Certification
  7. Guest Blogger – Visit To Michigan Connections Academy
  8. SITE 2011 – Creating A Model For Change With Online AP Courses In A Nonschool Hours Charter School
  9. Review – Frog Dissection
  10. Attn: K-12 Educators: The QM Program Needs YOU

Note that item 6-10 were actually posted in the past month.  Also interesting that the entry entitled Questions About The School Of Tomorrow continues to rank high each month (which may explain if you Google “School of Tomorrow” that entry is the fifth item listed).

To get to those, and other entries, people came from:

  1. Twitter (thanks to Scott McLeod for posting links to these entries there, as his Twiiter account generates most of my Twitter traffic)
  2. Google Reader
  3. courrierinternational.com/article/2011/03/14/une-salle-de-classe-sans-prof (an interesting one)
  4. Facebook
  5. Google
  6. iconfactory.com (people searching for iPod and iPad icons)
  7. Yahoo Mail
  8. onlinenursingdegree-info.com (I have no idea, thought they may be scrapping my content, but I don’t think they are)
  9. en.wordpress.com (WordPress tags – I know I included those for more than just to help me find things)
  10. schooltechleadership.org (the CASTLE team)

For those that did use Google, and any other search engine, they found me using the following terms:

  1. statistics
  2. blended learning
  3. generational differences
  4. dissertation
  5. businessman
  6. webinar
  7. california
  8. virtual school meanderings
  9. georgia cyber academy
  10. visible learning

Kind of funny that “statistics” was the first item – given this is my statistics entry and all. First time the actual search terms “virtual school meanderings” made it into the top 10 search keys, which is kind of nice to have people actually searching specifically for me.

Finally, a new statistic that it appears WordPress is keeping for me now:

Site subscriptions: 21 active subscribers
Comment subscriptions: 119 subscribers, 177 subscriptions

Moving on to the Feedburner statistics…  At present I have 135 subscribers (56 of those via e-mail) and 52 reach. Apparently my average for the month of March was 127 subscribers and 49 reach. This leads me to believe that reach is a daily statistic (or at least the way I looked it up today it was).  According to Feedburner, the top ten entries on this blog for the month of March were:

  1. Friday Funnies
  2. Credit Recovery: Summer School Solutions From A Trusted Resource
  3. IT Forum – Discussion Topic Next Week: Mobile CSS
  4. iNACOL Partnership Gives EdTech Students Jump On Careers
  5. Sabbatical Research – Virtual Learning Network
  6. Live Webinar: Harnessing the 10 Elements of High-Quality Digital Learning for Your School District
  7. LearnNowBC Educator eBulletin – March 2011
  8. Latest News From SoftChalk – March 2011
  9. Connecting K-12 Online Learning Programs And Teacher Educators
  10. Article Notice: An Investigation into Reported Differences Between Online Math Instruction And Other Subject Areas In A Virtual School

Interesting how all ten of these entries are from March.  Anyway, until next month…

Once again ending with the statistics from my old blog site.
