Okay, I’v been traveling to or around Nevada for a conference that begins this coming week, so I’ve fallen behind a bit. I’ll see if I can catch up today though.
Day thirteen in the 30 Days to Being a Better Blogger series was yesterday and asked us to look at Day 13: Declutter Your Sidebar Part 2. Essentially, we were asked to go through the rest of sidebar with a fine toothed comb and de-clutter it.
Looking at my side bar, I have as follows: the feedburner icon, the pages I’ve created as a part of this challenge, my Blogroll, links to my homepage and wiki, a calendar so you can click on my blogging days, a search feature, my tag cloud, and then my archives.
This is actually something I’ve thought about off and on for a bit. And something I change frequently. At present, the only thing I question is the calendar. Once upon a time, it was useful because I simply didn’t have or didn’t make the time to blog daily. But as I look back over the last few months, I have blogged every day ths far in November, there were two days that I didn’t blog in October, only six in October (granted three were in a row), five in August, eight in July, and twelve in June. So I guess it has really been since this summer that I have become more regular – at least in terms of posting – so I do wondering if the calendar is still necessary.
Beyond that I believe the layout to be clean, there isn’t a lot there and most of what is there is necessary in my mind. So, what is the verdict on the calendar – needed or not needed?

Ditch it!
